Exercising Your Faith Muscle
Did you know that your faith grows when you use it?
Over the years I have worked with people who thought that faith was some kind of magical force that only ‘special’ people have, and they weren’t included on the list!
I want to get one thing straight with you right off the bat! God pulls no favorites! He loves everyone – equally!
If you’re like me, your first thought was, “Ok, I’ve got a little bit of faith, but not enough to do too much with!”
It didn’t take me long to realize that it doesn’t take much faith to get things done!
One scripture that I really had to think about was, “if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20b).
Have you ever seen a mustard seed? It’s incredibly small!
If you’ve never exercised your faith before, then this is a good place to start.
What area in your life do you need God to come through for and supply?
Do you need healing in your body (physical, mental, emotional or spiritual), financial provision or relationship help?
It really doesn’t matter what it is; the important thing is to figure out exactly what it is that you need!
Once you know, make sure that you discern if this something that God wants for you!
Many times we believe for things that are not good for us.
When I’m unsure, I always ask for a big sign saying “GO!” to be revealed to me when it’s the right time to take action to do something.
Then, it comes time to truly start building your faith muscle!
Faith is having the audacity to believe in what you can not physically see!
Faith is a muscle. It has to be exercised just like the rest of your body.
And set your expectations appropriately to – ’cause the “GO” sign you receive may say GO, but point in a different direction than you thought you would be, or should be taking!
Faith requires us to DECIDE to move outside of all of our comfort zones to transform our life into
something that’s practically unrecognizable right now in our present day & circumstances – therefore, follow where the “GO!” sign is pointing you to go!
Yes. It can be scary.
But Faith extinguishes fear of the unknown, and allows you to take risks – sometimes BIG risks!
Faith is made up of “leap and the net will appear” kind of belief & thinking!
But for Faith to work, we’ve really got to do 3 things:
- we must be 100% true & in total alignment with ourselves
- we must be 100% true & in total alignment with our creator, and
- we must be 100% in gratitude for it when “what we’ve been holding onto faith for” comes into fruition
Ask yourself if you are doing your part in your faith journey in these 3 things.
If not, it may be time to break through some comfort zones to truly exercise & work that Faith Muscle you have!
